Isle of Wight Pubs
Pubs on the Isle of Wight are to be found all over the Island. There is around one pub for every square mile, so the opportunity to quench your thirst is never far away. Most pubs provide mouth-watering food as well as all your favourite beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Many hostelries are in prime locations, offering spectacular sea or countryside views, with The Countryman in Brighstone being a good example. Locally brewed beers and wines, which are a treat to the taste buds, are also on offer at numerous Island pubs.
If youre feeling energetic, why not try one of the pub walks that are available? More than half the Isle of Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are over 500 miles of marked footpaths with many pubs along the way, or nearby. There is nothing quite like a stroll along a coastal path or amongst charming countryside and ending up in a cosy village pub such as The White Hart Inn at Havenstreet for a tasty lunch and glass of beer. Its also a lovely way to end a day spent shopping, collapsing in a comfy chair in a welcoming town centre inn.
Live music is another great feature on offer in a lot of pubs on the Isle of Wight. Whether your thing is pop, golden oldies, easy listening or a bit of local jazz, you will find all tastes are catered for. Many a Sunday lunch can be enjoyed at The Spyglass Inn at Ventnor, with relaxing piano music being played in the background by the resident pianist. Again, Saturday evenings at pubs that include live music can be very popular, so turning up early is highly recommended. So, whatever your idea of a perfect night out is, you are sure to find what you are looking for in one of the many excellent pubs on the Isle of Wight.
