Description
One of the longest established UK paragliding schools, tandem tow launch instruction and hill soaring lessons on the Isle of Wight plus paraglider sales and equipment. Butterfly Paragliding at Chale is well placed to train you to fly paragliders. Organic bed and breakfast or camping accomodation is available on site.Winch towing club and hill launch training, tow launch courses, tandem flights and taster days. Accommodation
Organic breakfast, comfortable beds, relaxed atmosphere and outstanding location on the southern tip of the Island.
Perfectly situated for an overnight stop along the Coastal Walk round the Island or a weekend away from the rat race on North Island (England). There are two restaurants within a short walk; The Wight Mouse is a large old pub and Merlin's Bistro is a cozy little place with a terrific Indian menu.
Butterfly Paragliding, the flying school and Tandem Flight centre with its simulator, paramotor and paraglider shop is onsite in a separate building. If the wind is not suitable for hill soaring, we can use the winch for tow launch training and tandem flights.
Take off is within 50 metres of breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the channel. Sea breezes often allow extended soaring flights along 16 km of cliffs to Freshwater and sometimes back again, the famous "Blackgang Run".
A fabulous lostland area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) with private adventure trail leads down to a very secluded beach. Abundant wildlife and flora populate the extraordinary landscape; badgers, foxes, pheasant, kestrels, doves, cats, dogs rabbits, woodpeckers, gulls and peregrine falcons are seen on a daily basis
