Newtown Old Town Hall which is in the care of the National Trust, is a 17th-century town hall with no town but a fascinating history and is located in a tranquil village on the edge of a National Nature Reserve. The small village of Newtown once sent two members to Parliament and the town hall was the setting for often turbulent elections. This intriguing historic building is the only remaining evidence of the former importance of Newtown and contains fascinating local history and an exhibition depicting the exploits of 'Ferguson's Gang' a mysterious group of anonymous benefactors. There are lovely walks to the creek and Newtown Harbour.
