Description
Welcome to The Old Fort bar, café and local pub. The Old Fort is a seaside café bar right on the waterfront. We are located in the appropriately named village of Seaview on the northeast of the Isle of Wight. What makes The Old Fort special is not just our food and wide selection of beers and wines, but the spectacular views of the Solent with its daily shipping activity. From late April through to late September, sailing boats are moored close to the shore and in August, when the local dinghy fleet is at anchor, the "forest of masts" is a wonderful sight. The Old Fort is a café, a bar and a local pub all in one. We serve food throughout the day, with cooked breakfasts available in the morning, baguettes and snacks at lunchtime and full meals throughout the day. We accept all major credit cards (except American Express). The bar is called The Old Fort as this was the original name of Seaview village. Further, directly north of the bar and about 1 km out to sea is No Man's Land Fort. This was built in the 1860's as part of Lord Palmerston's sea defence plan.
