Description
Presford Farm sits all on its own, surrounded by views of open rolling countryside. It is a 260 acre arable farm which includes 15 acres of unspoilt ancient woodland and a bronze age tumulus. Set within the heart of a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. We are centrally located for exploring the Island's beautiful southern beaches of Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown to the east and Compton Bay, Freshwater and Alum Bay to the west. We are in an ideal position for walkers, cyclists and adventure sports enthusiasts. The farm and surrounding area is criss-crossed by bridle paths and footpaths with some fantasic views of the surrounding countyside - to the sea and mainland beyond! There are facilities for drying wet clothes etc and we have the space to accommodate all manner of outdoor equipment and plenty of parking space.Bikes and other equipment can be kept securely locked up in the utilility area of the house.
Shorwell is a lovely old village which boasts three very old stone manor houses, several thatched country cottages and an ancient stone built church housing a 12th century mural. There is a very old and excellent pub (The Crown Inn) with beer garden and trout stream and children's play area. It is a mile walk from the farm and serves really good food.
There is a village shop/post office which sells most things you need despite it's tiny size! We are just 10-15 minutes by car to the islands main town of Newport with its many shops, supermarkets, resturants, night- clubs and multiplex cinema.
