Description
Our house, set in an acre of secluded grounds, is beautifully situated amidst National Trust downland. Nestling beneath Tennyson Down, not far from the magnificent cliffs towering above `Frenchman's Hole', it has splendid country and Solentviews. Here you can enjoy many interesting and varied walks. For that feeling of being on top of the world, try the walk across the Downs to the tip of the headland for breathtaking views of the Needles and the sweep of the Dorset coastline. We offer a traditional English breakfast, but of course you may order a light Continental breakfast if you prefer.
In the evenings you can relax in our comfortable Lounge and watch your favourite TV programmes if conversation runs short! You may of course like to take a short stroll and explore our acre of grounds around the house or just relax on the terrace. The house has eight bedrooms and two family suites. Four bedrooms are on the ground floor, four on the first floor and the family suites, (comprising two bedrooms and bathroom), are on the second. The spacious bedrooms, all of which have en suite facilities, are each furnished with an individual charm and have delightful rural aspects or sea views. Each room has a colour television and hot drink making facility.
Our Surroundings
One of the most westerly located guest houses on the Isle of Wight, set in the countryside alongside Tennyson Down, with fantastic views of The Solent, Headon Warren and Afton Downs. Frenchman's Cove is surrounded by footpaths enabling ramblers to keep off the roads and appreciate the local countryside with magnificent views.
Not far away is the town of Yarmouth and the river Yar with plenty of birds to keep ornithologists happy. In the spring and summer the flowers are a delight to see as are the butterflies.
Ground Floor en-suite rooms available - We can lend you a wheelchair during your stay with us - so you don't have to bring one with you, saving valuable luggage space in the car.
