Jane and Simon Groves welcome you to Knight´s Rest on the beautiful Isle of Wight. This early 1800s manor house offers bed and breakfast accommodation for adults only and is open all year round. You will find us situated in Shanklin, the Isle of Wight´s favourite seaside town, with its blend of sandy beaches and high annual sunshine hours combined with old world charm. Knight´s Rest provides the perfect ambience for a relaxing holiday or a short refreshing break. We pride ourselves on a huge variety of breakfasts to cater for everyone’s tastes.
The recently refurbished accommodation is on the ground and first floor and comprises five double rooms, one twin room and one single room, all with en suite facilities. All rooms include colour televisions, hairdryers, tea and coffee trays and all the modern facilities you would expect. You will also find there are plenty of car parking spaces. Breakfast is a specialty with an array of conventional English.
The manor house was built in the 1830s using a mixture of Gothic, Florentine and other styles so often found in London and similar cities, but previously unseen on the Isle of Wight. Originally built as a manor house, it was converted into a hotel in the early 1900s when Shanklin experienced a rapid rise in tourism and the ever-popular seaside holiday. For the 21st Century, Knight´s Rest has been sympathetically refurbished while retaining its original character wherever possible.
Suitable for adults only, no children are permitted, and regrettably, we cannot accommodate pets.
