Tonino's Cruises Into Top Eateries
By Ross Findon - Friday October 5 2007
A COWES restaurant with the recipe for success has been named one of the best restaurants for leisure cruisers in a magazine chart. High Street restaurant Tonino's, established in 1979, was recognised in Motor Boat and Yachting Magazines Top Ten Cruising Restaurants in this month's edition. The list included restaurants in Scotland, France and the Scilly Isles, with Tonino's listed at number five.
"It was completely out of the blue. A customer was in the restaurant and told me. I thought they were pulling my leg," said owner Antonio Roscino. "It's a nice surprise." Mr Roscino runs the restaurant with wife and chef Clara, daughters Sabrina and Laura and assistant chef Maxine Fox. The restaurant was praised for its friendly atmosphere, quick service and good food.
