Description
If you're looking for a traditional pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, then look no further than the Solent Inn at Ryde. The Solent Inn is a grade II listed former coaching inn built in 1747 and has been run by Graham and Helen Fastnedge since November 2006. The pub won fifth place in the 2007 CAMRA awards and has won the Wightwash Best Newcomers Award. One real ale, Banks Bitter is always available at the pub, along with five other regularly changing ales. Lunches are served from midday, Monday to Friday and the menu includes sandwiches, baguettes and a special dish of the day. At weekends, there is a barbecue in the garden, which seats up to 48 persons and an outdoor smoking area with sensor heating and lighting will be available by the end of the summer.
Live music can be enjoyed at the Solent on Thursday Friday and Sunday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, there is a quiz night on Wednesdays and Monday is, in traditional fashion, darts night. Children are welcome in the pub until 9pm.
