Description
Brickfields Horse Country is a fun day out for all the family. On offer is horse riding, lessons, shire horses, miniature ponies, farm animals, a heritage museum, working blacksmith and even seasonal pig races. There is plenty to do to entertain all the family. Established for over 25 years, Brickfields Horse Country is a unique tourist attraction on the Isle of Wight. Originally, an equestrian centre with an indoor arena offering show jumping and dressage competitions, Brickfields now offers a whole host of activities for the family including: a unique museum home to one of the most extensive carriage collections in the South of England.Visitors will have a chance to meet the resident horse and ponies at the centre. The miniature Shetland ponies capture most hearts, the other end of the size scale are the gentle giants, the shire horses. Brickfields can now boast one of the tallest horses in the country; his name is Harry. He is one of the kindest natured horses that you could ever wish to meet; he was born at the centre in 2003. He should reach a record height when he finally stops growing. There is a working blacksmith and pony rides are available every day. A great favourite is the tractor rides to Porkers Paradise, a popular spot where visitors can cheer on the pig racing in the summer season; there are usually litters of young pigs on show throughout the year. There are also goats, donkeys and many other farm animals.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider why not try horse riding at Brickfields BHS approved riding school. With lesson or rides out in the country, the well-schooled horses and ponies coupled with trained staff make the experience very enjoyable.
